Good morning dear Earth
I do wish you well
Day in and day out
You’ve stories to tell
The burden of most
Must make your life hell

What humans are we
Since Adam and Eve fell?
This precious gift spoiled
Over years of misuse
Where’s our light of hope
We’re beginning to lose

It’s backwards we’re going
Destroying all your precious jewels
Despite all the warnings
We’ve ignored all the cues
Oh, how do you stand
Our daily tit for tat

As humans we’ve failed,
We’re just full of empty chit-chat
Ignoring the poor
We’re most selfish at that
And despite technical progress
We’ve gone completely off track

What patience you have
I‘m so grateful for that
