I Dropped My Mobile Down A Flight Of Stairs

And lost all control

Leaning over the bannisters, my toes stretched to the limit, I watched my mobile gyrating down, down, down — four, three, two floors taking with it my stomach. And leaving my heart in my proverbial mouth.

Plummeting onto the marble white floor, with a virtual crash, it smashed into little plastic pieces — with an echo reverberating through my body from base to brain.

I looked down in disbelief and immovable distress. In a matter of seconds, a controlling feature of my life… was gone… destroyed, through my own damned carelessness. I sweated panic.

“No, not now!”, I attempted a scream…

Silence pounded in my ears. I dared another look down and then — to my joy, I saw a tiny red light vibrating — heartbeats, signals escaping from the smashed mess.

Blink, blink, blink. My precious was still alive, beating in its mangled body.

I sped down the thousand flights of eternal stairs —

And woke up, shaking my head.
