Yes, it’s true I’d been observing these fake followers for quite some time (March). I’m suspicious when it comes to social media, slightly paranoid in fact, and so I always check my followers’ profiles and read some of their posts before I follow them back, so it was easy for me to see the pattern developing. I didn’t, however, conclude the plagiarism bit. I just naively wondered where they got their informative, sometimes very divisive, posts. To cut things short, the day after you posted the above, Ethan, another medium writer posted the following (fyi)

So, with this combined effort hopefully Medium will be able to find some means of countering and preventing such criminal activity. I’m always amazed at what depths people go to cheat and exploit others for their own personal greed and gain.

Thanks, Ethan, for your detailed and observant work. Did you actually report this to Medium? I wouldn’t have known how to, and to simply block the fake followers wouldn’t have solved the problem.
